Sources close to the opposition have alleged potential foul play, citing discrepancies in the number of ballots cast and registered voters. They are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and maintain public trust in the democratic system.

Mayor Athif, however, maintains that the election was conducted fairly and transparently. He has expressed confidence in the official results and dismissed the allegations as baseless attempts to undermine his mandate. He welcomed any investigation to prove the integrity of the election.
