New Era for Higher Education

The Maldives National University (MNU) officially inaugurated its brand new Engineering Faculty building today in a ceremony attended by the Minister of Higher Education and hundreds of students and faculty members.

The six-story building spans over 12,000 square meters and houses cutting-edge laboratories for civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering disciplines. The facility also includes a dedicated research center, innovation hub, and student collaboration spaces.

MNU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mariyam Hussain said this marks a significant milestone for technical education in the Maldives, adding that the university aims to produce 500 engineering graduates annually by 2027.
